Albert E. Smith is the Vice-Chair for the Kennedy Health System Board of Directors and a member of the Board of Trustees of Kennedy University Hospital. He is also Chairman of the following boards: the Professional Medical Management and subsidiary Kennedy Medical Equipment board and the Kennedy Health Alliance Board of Trustees, chairs various Kennedy Board committees: Bylaws and Rules; Compliance and Audit; and the Hospital Board’s Finance and Bylaws Committees. Mr. Smith also serves as a member on numerous committees for both the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors.
Mr. Smith is the retired President of Canon Financial Services (CFS), Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canon. He served in that position from 1986 to 2007, directing all activities of the organization. Prior to that, he had served as Executive Vice President with Fidelity Bank & Trust Company of New Jersey (now Bank of America) from 1971 to 1986.
A Kennedy Board member for more than 25 years, Mr. Smith has also served for more than 20 years on the Executive Advisory Board for Rutgers University School of Business. A certified public accountant since 1979, he holds a Fellowship in both the American Society of CPAs and the New Jersey Society of CPAs.
In 2003, Mr. Smith was honored for his philanthropic work with the Goodwill Industries of Southern New Jersey Helms Award. He served as Vice Chairman of the South Jersey March of Dimes from 1986 to 1991 and was the organization’s WalkAmerica Chairman in 1986.
He is a graduate of Rutgers University.
Mr. Smith and his wife, Meral, reside in Haddonfield, NJ.
