Rewards and Recognition

Kennedy is committed to recognizing and rewarding service excellence.

Associate Recognition Program

Kennedy is committed to recognizing and rewarding service excellence. One way we do that is through our Associate Recognition Program. This program is designed to recognize teams or individuals who are outstanding in the areas of quality performance and/or project- driven activities. Nomination forms are reviewed quarterly by the Associate Recognition Council, comprised of representatives throughout the system.  If chosen, associates are recognized for their accomplishments and receive the following:

  • Certificate of Recognition
  • Selection of a gift from an awards list
  • Photograph and recognition in the Kennedy newsletter
  • ARP Reserved Parking
  • Invitation to a luncheon in with President & CEO Joseph W. Devine

All associates are encouraged to participate in the recognition process.  By doing so, we reinforce associates’ efforts to achieve Kennedy Health’s mission, vision and objectives.

Associate Appreciation Day

Kennedy Health annually designates a special day in June to celebrate Associate Appreciation Day.  This day is set aside to thank all our associates for their continued contributions to providing the best healthcare in our communities. The day is filled with themed, delicious meals in our cafeterias, unique gifts and celebrations.

Service Recognition Awards

Kennedy Health values the continued loyalty, commitment, and service of its associates. Each fall, we celebrate milestone achievements of associate service with a reception luncheon, showcasing our associates reaching 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of dedicated employment during the year. All honorees and their managers are invited to attend this special luncheon, hosted by the Executive Management team. The formal meal and gift raffle highlight this day as one outward sign of appreciation for our most valuable asset – our associates.

Each honored associate receives a gift selection packet in the mail and can choose a gift from many options at each level of service.  The gifts are then sent directly to the associates’ homes. This long-standing tradition is one Kennedy associates look forward to as they work toward each successive level of service.

Nurses Week

During Nurses Week each May, our more than 1,300 nurses are recognized with an array of special events, as well as a special gift to thank them for their dedication and hard work. We also honor nurses through our annual Power of One awards and the quarterly DAISY Awards.

Holiday Parties

Kennedy Health has periodically hosted an annual holiday party for its associates, which is very popular and well-attended. This event also features a raffle with gift baskets created by staff of various departments. Proceeds from these gift baskets benefit our Employee Assistance Fund, which provides financial support to associates in crisis situations.
