The Center for Hope and Healing classes and programs

The Kennedy Cancer Center enhances its mission to nurture cancer patients through the Center for Hope and Healing.  The Center for Hope and Healing promotes an optimum life experience for people with cancer, their family members and medical caregivers. Through individual and group sessions, and self expression through interaction with others, the use of physical activities and various arts are introduced and encouraged as an effective tool for coping with cancer.

Tai Chi - 05/22/2013
Tai Chi is a Chinese slow motion exercise designed to promote good health & longevity by circulating internal energy or 'chi.' Benefits include: promoting relaxation and reducing stress, a moving meditation. Anyone can do it regardless of age or condition. It lowers blood pressure, improves balance & coordination, slows and improves breathing & builds strength and vitality.

HOPE - Helping Oncology Patients Exercise - 06/03/2013
Open to adult cancer patients of all ages and fitness levels who are under tratment for various types of cancer. Research suggests exercise can help cancer patients reduce pain, nausea, anxiety and fatigue, improve ability to perform daily activities and enhance mood.
