Kennedy Cancer Center Receives National Achievement Award from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons

The Kennedy Cancer Center – a multi-tiered outpatient cancer program that is part of the Penn Cancer Network – has received the 2011 CoC Outstanding Achievement Award from the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons as a new cancer program. Kennedy is one of a select group of 106 currently accredited or newly accredited cancer programs across the U.S. to receive a CoC Outstanding Achievement Award. Kennedy is the only program in New Jersey south of Trenton to receive a CoC Outstanding Achievement Award.

Carman A. Ciervo, D.O., FACOFP, Senior Vice President for Clinical Integration with the Kennedy Health System in southern New Jersey, was named a 2012  Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) at its Conclave of Fellows Awards Ceremony held March 17th in Kissimmee, FL. Dr. Ciervo was one of only two ACOFP Fellows nationally to receive the honor, which is given in recognition of exemplary service to the ACOFP and the Conclave of Fellows. Currently, there are only 50 ACOFP Distinguished Fellows in the United States.

Dr. David V. Condoluci, D.O., Section Head of Infectious Diseases at Kennedy University Hospital, has been named Chief of Medicine for the Kennedy Health System. In his new role, Dr. Condoluci will work directly with Kennedy’s Chief Medical Officer and other chiefs of service to enhance patient care initiatives and further develop services provided to the community.
