Washington Township High School graduate Jennifer Klavens, a four-year volunteer, and Vineeth Romiyo, a three-year  volunteer and recent graduate of Augustine Preparatory School in Atlantic County, were recently recognized for their dedication to Kennedy’s mission with scholarships toward their college education.

Dr. Louis C. Haenel III, Endocrinologist at Kennedy Health Alliance, has been honored with the Distinguished Service Award from the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)South Jersey Chapter.

The Distinguished Service Award, presented annually, recognizes a South Jersey medical professional who makes a significant difference in the lives of those living with type 1 diabetes.

Haddonfield resident Evan Gooberman has been named Chair of the Alan Z. Gartzman, D.O., Memorial Fund (AZG), established in 1985 to honor Alan Gartzman’s memory following the young physician’s passing. Mr. Gooberman is the brother of past AZG Chair Steven Gartzman.

“I am humbled that my family and other committee members have asked me to step into this new role,” Gooberman said. Although Gooberman was born after Alan Gartzman’s death, Gartzman’s memory and legacy is “always a significant part” of his life, Gooberman said.

Kennedy Health will host a FREE wellness program – “The In’s and Out’s of Parkinson’s Disease” – at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 18th, at the West Deptford Library, 420 Crown Point Road, Thorofare.

More than one million people in America suffer from Parkinson’s Disease, a progressively debilitating disorder that effects bodily movement.

About 60,000 new cases of Parkinson’s are diagnosed each year, with the average onset at age 60.

Kennedy Health Alliance Wins NJAFP Patient-Centered Innovation Award

Read more...Kennedy Health Alliance (KHA) has been awarded a Patient-Centered Innovation Award by the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians (NJAFP). 

Representatives of KHA were presented with the award – in the category of Practice that is Part of a Healthcare System/Healthcare System – on June 11th at a special symposium held in Atlantic City, NJ. 

The NJAFP Patient-Centered Innovation Awards are presented annually to medical practices that use innovative methods and programs to enhance excellence in patient-centered care. This was KHA’s first Patient-Centered Innovation Awards nomination and recognition.
