Vital Signs 2011 - Ready, Set, Code: Gearing Up for ICD-10
Friday, May 13, 2011

Free ICD-10 Seminar on June 29th.
The Kennedy Health System and NJHA Healthcare Business Solutions have teamed up to offer this valuable ICD-10 Coding educational program to help your practice successfully implement ICD-10. This complimentary seminar is a great way to begin preparing for this important transition and comply with the suggested ICD-10 preparation timelines.

OVERVIEW
ICD-10 will offer many benefits, but its implementation brings unique challenges that will impact productivity on many levels. Documentation is the most obvious and largest area to be affected. If documentation lacks specific elements required for accurate and precise code selection, the physician or provider will need to be queried for additional information. If they are not immediately available, the service cannot be entered or billed until that information is obtained. Charge tickets (superbills) may become a thing of the past because of the increased amount of code choices in some areas. Physicians and providers cannot be expected to document appropriately if they do not understand what is required in the first place.
