Kennedy Names New Board Members

The Kennedy University Hospitals Board of Trustees in southern New Jersey has announced the appointment of two new Board members for three-year terms: Daniel J. Dalton of Clayton, NJ, and John E. Wallace, Jr. of Washington Township, NJ.

 

Former Secretary of State for New Jersey, Mr. Dalton is a Sales Executive with Brown & Brown of NJ, Inc., a full service property casualty and benefits insurance office. From 1994 until 2007, he was President of the Dalton Insurance Agency in Glassboro. As NJ Secretary of State from 1992 to 1994, Mr. Dalton was responsible for overseeing six divisions with more than 250 employees, along with supervising the certification and preservation of election results and overseeing many cultural activities in the State. Mr. Dalton was also a member of the New Jersey State Legislature from 1980 until 1992, serving on the State Assembly (1980-82), as State Senator (1982-1992) and as Senate Majority Leader (1990-1992).

Mr. Dalton is the recipient of many awards, including the 1992 “Spirit of South Jersey Award,” presented by the Southern New Jersey Development Council and the 1997 New Jersey Professional Insurance Agents Director of the Year award. A graduate of Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Mr. Dalton received a master's degree in public administration at Memphis State University in Tennessee. 

 

Dalton Daniels

A retired New Jersey Supreme Court Justice, Mr. Wallace joined the South Jersey-headquartered law firm of Brown & Connery, LLC, in early 2011, where he practices primarily in mediation and arbitration. Mr. Wallace’s career as a jurist spanned more than 25 years. Appointed to the New Jersey Superior Court in 1984, he went on to serve as an appellate judge, beginning in 1992, before being nominated and confirmed to New Jersey’s highest court in 2003.

Justice Wallace has received numerous honors from civic and legal organizations over the years, and is a member of the board of Legal Services of New Jersey. He is a member of the American Bar Association the Bar Associations of the state of New Jersey and of Camden and Gloucester (NJ) counties. Mr. Wallace is also an inductee of the University of Delaware Hall of Fame and a member of its Board of Trustees. Mr. Wallace received his B.S. from the University of Delaware and his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1967.
