|Kennedy Celebrates World Breastfeeding Week August 1-7|
|Monday, August 01, 2011|
In support of World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7), Kennedy Health System reminds mothers of the importance of breastfeeding and the programs it offers to support them. Kennedy’s Women’s and Children’s Services offer a three-hour prenatal breastfeeding education class as well as a breastfeeding support group after the baby is born.
Parents can receive private consultations with an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant to address individual challenges. There is also a breast pump rental program at Kennedy. For more information, visit our Women's and Children's Services page online or call 856-582-3098.
World Breastfeeding Week, promoted with the slogan “Breastfeeding Support: Stay Connected!” celebrates the flourishing communication networks between mothers and their support groups, including family, friends, and healthcare professionals. It is these strong connections among mothers and their support groups—made easier by technology— that make the process of breastfeeding safer, healthier, and more successful.
