The Kennedy Health System recently held an Open House and VIP Ribbon Cutting for its new Acute Care for Elders (ACE) Unit at its Stratford hospital.

Institute for Successful Aging, Kennedy Health Care Foundation board member Brian Jones, Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli; Williamstown residents Virginia and Francis Girard and ACE Unit Medical Director Dr. Terri Ginsberg.

The 12-bed ACE Unit – located on the hospital's third floor -- is designed to meet the unique needs of hospitalized older adults (ages 70 and up), while offering support and access to their loved ones. Kennedy's ACE Unit uses an interdisciplinary approach to help older adults maintain their independence and prevent physical and mental decline while receiving treatment for acute illnesses.
