Kennedy Elects New Medical Staff Officers

Medical Staff Officers
Melanie Angelo, D.O., has been elected Chief of Staff of South Jersey-based Kennedy University Hospitals. Todd P. Levin, D.O., has been named Vice Chief of Staff, and Henry Schuitema, D.O., has been elected Treasurer. All three terms are for two years. The election was held at the recent annual Medical Staff meeting.
The Medical Staff Officers represent the interests of Kennedy physicians, and work closely with administration in strategic planning and other healthcare delivery issues. They are also responsible for spearheading community service activities sponsored by their constituents.

• Dr. Melanie Angelo, Chief of Staff, is Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Kennedy University Hospital in Cherry Hill. A 1998 graduate of the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey – School of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Angelo is board certified in Emergency Medicine and lives in Haddonfield.

• Dr. Todd Levin, Vice Chief, is an infectious diseases specialist with Garden State Infectious Diseases Associates, P.A. in Voorhees, NJ. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. A graduate of Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downer's Grove, IL, Dr. Levin also holds a master's degree in biology from New York University. He resides in Philadelphia, Pa.

• Dr. Henry ("Henny") Schuitema, Medical Staff Treasurer, was recently named system-wide Chief of Emergency Medicine at Kennedy and, since 1996, has been Medical Director of the Kennedy – Stratford Emergency Department. A graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Schuitema is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine. He lives with his family in Medford, NJ.
