Jim Mullen MS, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC, has been named Vice President of Clinical Services for Kennedy University Hospital in Washington Township, NJ. In this position, Mr. Mullen will oversee the operational and clinical aspects of nursing, and clinical operations at Kennedy – Washington Township, an acute care hospital.
Mr. Mullen comes to Kennedy with more than 30 years of nursing and administrative experience. He most recently served as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Nursing Office and Senior Vice President at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, MA. His career also includes five years as COO/CNO & Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services at Heywood Hospital in Gardner, MA. From 2003-2006, Mr. Mullen served as Director of Nursing for Neurosciences & Specialty Services at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, GA. He also served as Vice President of Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer at Deaconess Nashoba Hospital in Ayer, MA.
In addition, Mr. Mullen served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 22 years as a Nurse Corps officer, retiring as Lieutenant Colonel.
Mr. Mullen earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts School of Nursing at Amherst and his Master of Science degree in Nursing Administration from Boston University School of Nursing. He holds an Advanced Certificate in Health and Public Policy from the University of Maryland and is a DNP-Executive Track student at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. Mr. Mullen is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
The father of three, Mr. Mullen will be relocating with his wife Debbie from Gardner, MA.
