Richard Koss

Richard Koss has been named Senior Vice President of Ambulatory & Product Line Services for the Kennedy Health System. Koss, a 39-year Kennedy associate, had previously served as Vice President of Ambulatory Services at Kennedy.

In his new role, Koss will develop a strategic direction for Kennedy’s product line expansion, as well as for the healthcare organization’s existing ambulatory service lines. Koss will have an expanded scope of responsibility with Kennedy’s Behavioral Health, Neurosciences and Orthopedic service lines now under his direction.  

Koss will also oversee Kennedy’s joint ventures and has oversight for its subsidiary groups, including Kennedy Property Corporation, and Professional Medical Management (Financial Recoveries).

A native of South Jersey, Koss joined Kennedy in 1974, following his graduation from Rutgers University, where he earned a B.S. in Accounting. His first role at Kennedy was as Assistant Controller for the hospitals; he became Controller in 1978. In 1981, he was named Assistant Vice President of Fiscal Affairs.  

As Kennedy’s VP for Ambulatory Services, a role he held since 1998, Koss played a key role in the expansion and success of its many outpatient facilities, including Radiation Oncology, Dialysis, the Kennedy Surgical Center, Family Health Centers, the Sleep and Balance Centers, Home Health Services and STAT Medical Transport. He  also played a leading role in the successful affiliation between Kennedy’s Radiation Oncology and Cancer Program and the Penn Cancer Network.  

A Certified Public Accountant in the state of New Jersey, Rich holds an MBA in Healthcare Administration from LaSalle University in Philadelphia and is a member of the Hospital Financial Management Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He resides in Berlin, NJ, with his wife, Rosemary.
