|Dr. Maryann Lauletta Named VP of Medical Operations at Kennedy|

Maryann Lauletta, MD, has been named VP of Medical Operations for Kennedy University Hospital. In this role, Dr. Lauletta – a board-certified Internal Medicine physician – will the departments of Case Management and Social Work, as well as the Transition of Care Team. In addition, she will be responsible for the Performance Improvement and Regulatory Readiness Departments at Kennedy’s three acute-care hospitals. She will also be involved with the DSRIP program for the NJ Department of Health. A member of Kennedy’s Medical Staff since 2003, Dr. Lauletta had previously served as Medical Director of Medical Management at Kennedy prior to this appointment.
In addition to implementing systems of care to improve quality and patient satisfaction, Dr. Lauletta assists in formulating transition of care plans for higher complexity patients, along with a group of Nurse Practitioners, Case Managers and Social Workers. She serves as a liaison for area nursing homes for better coordination of care, and works closely with Kennedy’s physicians to improve service delivery to patients. One of her other areas of focus is on proper utilization of healthcare resources; Dr. Lauletta is Chairperson of the Hospital’s Utilization Review Committee.
A 1998 graduate of Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, where she completed her medical internship and residency, Dr. Lauletta is a Recipient of the Ronald P. Caputo, M.D. Memorial Award for Outstanding Clinical Skills and Humanitarianism in the Care of Medical Patients. A member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives, Dr. Lauletta holds a Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate from the American Society for Quality and is pursuing her Black Belt in Six Sigma and Lean Theories.
Dr. Lauletta resides with her husband and three children in Washington Township, NJ.
