Thursday, October 24, 2013

Katherine Schleider,  Vice President for Clinical Integration with the Kennedy Health System, has been honored with a “Women of Distinction” Award from the Camden County Board of Freeholders for her dedication to family and the community. The first-time award was presented to Ms. Schleider at the County’s recent Women’s Health Conference held in Voorhees, NJ.

From 2010, until her appointment earlier this year as VP for Clinical Integration, Ms. Schleider had served as Kennedy’s Corporate Director of Clinical Integration, assisting with the creation and expansion of the many Kennedy Health Alliance (KHA) primary care practices in South Jersey.

Under her leadership and expertise, KHA has become a premier “gateway” to primary care services for South Jersey residents.  In her role as Vice President, Ms. Schleider oversees efforts to expand KHA’s community presence, as well as Kennedy’s strategic alignment with primary care Medical Staff.  She played a key role in KHA receiving the Center for Medicare Services Primary Care Innovations Grant, as well as serving as an ongoing mentor for her co-workers, while advocating for improvements to the way healthcare in South Jersey is delivered.

Katherine Schleider is one of five area women who were honored with a “Women of Distinction” Award; Ms. Schleider was chosen in the category of Veteran. The award recognizes her commitment to having selflessly protected and served our country through military service, as well as her ability to “balance many aspects of a woman’s daily life … with confidence and grace.”

Ms. Schleider’s community outreach efforts include volunteering at the American Heart Walk, and representing the Kennedy Health Alliance in the recent Bill Bottino Mud Run for Cancer, which raised funds to support programs that assist people living with cancer. She is also a registered volunteer with Camden, NJ’s Cathedral Kitchen.

Ms. Schleider -- who had served in the US Air Force from 1982 to 1990 -- earned her B.S. in Technical Management from Wayland Baptist College in Texas in 1990 and her RN from San Antonio College in 1991. Her clinical career has included positions as a Surgical Nurse and Charge Nurse.

In 2012, Ms. Schleider graduated from the University of Phoenix with her Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree. She resides with her husband, Robert, and children, Chelsea and Courtney, in Cedar Brook, NJ.
