Sicklerville resident Sharon Dezzi (left) and her sister, Linda Vadino, of Mount Laurel, NJ, accept a posthumous Service Medal from Rev. Floyd L. White, Director of the Camden County’s Veterans Affairs Office, for their late father during the recent Veterans Medal Ceremony held at the Kennedy Center at Voorhees.

John Alan Vadino of Cherry Hill was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, who served as a Chief Petty Officer during the second World War. He died  at age 88 on October 3, 2013, just weeks before the medal ceremony. About 20 medals were presented to Camden County war veterans by members of the Camden County Freeholders, County Veterans’ Affairs and Jewish War Veterans Post 126. The annual event, which draws dozens of area veterans and their family members, is hosted by the Kennedy Health System through its ElderMed Department.
