Two New Vice Presidents Appointed at Kennedy Health System

Barbara Ciaramella
and Russell Micoli have been named Vice Presidents at the Kennedy Health System in southern New Jersey. Ciaramella is Vice President of Product Lines, and Micoli is Vice President for Ambulatory Services. Both Ciaramella and Micoli had previously worked at Kennedy for many years, returning to the healthcare organization in new, expanded roles.

Ciaramella, as Vice President of Product Lines, will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of several key ambulatory facilities and service lines, including the Kennedy Cancer Program, and its affiliation with the Penn Cancer Network, Radiation Oncology, the Center for Advanced Wound Healing, Sleep Medicine, Outpatient Diabetes Education, Balance Centers and the Kennedy Surgical Center.

Micoli, as Vice President for Ambulatory Services, will be responsible for the organization’s acclaimed Behavioral Health Services, as well as Family Health Services, Home Health Care, and the Early Intervention Program (EIP), which provides care and supportive services for area residents living with HIV/AIDS.

Ciaramella – who joins Kennedy from the Virtua-Summit Surgical Center in Voorhees, NJ – had previously served as Executive Director of the Kennedy Surgical Center in Washington Township from 2003 until 2010. Her career at Kennedy had also included serving as Executive Director of the Center for Wound Healing (2006-2010), and as Nurse Manager of Performance Improvement and Physician Recruitment/Surgical Services (1998-2003). A 1994 graduate of Widener University, where she earned her B.S. in Nursing, Ciaramella earned her Master of Science in Nursing (Leadership in Health Systems Management) from Drexel University in 2013. She is a member of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and Sigma Theta Tau International, the Honor Society of Nursing. Ciaramella resides with her husband and daughter in Turnersville, NJ.

Micoli – who joins Kennedy from Northern Children’s Services in Philadelphia, where he served as Chief Operating Officer in 2013 – had been Corporate Director of Behavioral Health Services at Kennedy for 13 years. He joined Kennedy in 1989 as a member of the Behavioral Health management team and held a series of progressively responsible leadership roles in that department. A 1982 graduate of Daemen College in Amherst, NY, Micoli holds a B.A. in Psychology & Human Services and two Master’s degrees: Counseling & Educational Psychology from SUNY, Buffalo, NY (1984) and Healthcare Administration from St. Joseph’s University (2012).  Micoli also holds a Master’s Certificate in Risk Management & Patient Safety from the University of Delaware (2010). Chair of the New Jersey Hospital Association’s Behavioral Health Constituency Group and a board member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Gloucester County, Micoli resides with his wife and children in Mullica Hill, NJ.
