The Kennedy Health System has signed a two-year contract with Aetna for Medicare members and for commercial members in fully insured and self-insured plans.
“In our continuing effort to provide excellent healthcare services to the people of South Jersey, Kennedy is extremely pleased to have renegotiated an acceptable contract with Aetna,” said Kennedy President & CEO Joseph W. Devine. “We are pleased to be part of the Aetna network again and we are especially happy for existing Aetna customers, who will now have the convenience of high-quality health care close to home.”
The contract includes all inpatient and outpatient hospital services (including Dialysis, Radiation Oncology and Home Health Care), the Kennedy Health Alliance physicians and clinical professionals, as well as the Kennedy Health Care Center (long-term and sub-acute care facility).
Effective immediately, all of Kennedy’s facilities – including its three acute-care hospitals located in Cherry Hill, Stratford and Washington Township, NJ -- will accept Aetna patients at in-network rates.
“It is positive for our members and plan sponsors that we have reached a new agreement with Kennedy,” said Michael Costa, vice president-Network for Aetna in New Jersey. “We are delighted to welcome Kennedy Health System back and look forward to a productive working relationship for the benefit of our shared customers.”
Kennedy’s previous contract with Aetna was terminated in February 2013. With this new agreement, more than 340,000 Aetna members in the area will again have in-network access to Kennedy’s services.
Kennedy is a health services delivery system serving the communities of southern New Jersey. Kennedy meets the community’s health care needs with services at its hospital campuses in Cherry Hill, Stratford and Washington Township and at outpatient facilities throughout Camden and Gloucester counties.
