Carman A. Ciervo, D.O., FACOFP, is Senior Vice President for Clinical & Population Health Services with the Kennedy Health System. In this role, Dr. Ciervo oversees the management and operations of the Kennedy Health Alliance, a growing network of primary and specialty care physician practices that provide South Jersey residents with ‘front-door’ access to top-notch medical care close to home. Additionally, Dr. Ciervo serves as Kennedy’s primary physician liaison with the physician community at large, dealing with issues of practice growth and development, as well as Kennedy’s principal liaison with its valued partner, Rowan University-School of Osteopathic Medicine (RowanSOM), formerly UMDNJ-SOM.
Prior to assuming this new role, Dr. Ciervo had served as Kennedy’s Senior Vice President of Clinical Integration. Dr. Ciervo, a Governor for the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP), will become President of the ACOFP, the largest component of the American Osteopathic Association. He serves on numerous other national committees.
Dr. Ciervo earned his D.O. from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1988, completing his residency in Family Medicine through UMDNJ-SOM in1991. Dr. Ciervo was inducted into the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Mentor Hall of Fame in 2006 and received the National ACOFP Excellence in State Society Leadership Award in 2008. In 2010, he was honored as one of five national finalists in the AOA’s Mentor of the Year program. Dr. Ciervo has received numerous awards for his teaching, including the UMDNJ-SOM Excellence in Education Award.
As a member of ACOFP, Dr. Ciervo has served on the Industry Relations Committee, as Chair of the In-service Exam Committee, and Vice Chair of the Committee on Evaluation and Education. Past President for the New Jersey Chapter for ACOFP, Dr. Ciervo is also a member of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, the American Osteopathic Association, and American Medical Association. He has also been honored by South Jersey and SJ magazines as a “Top Doc” in various physician and reader polls over the past several years.
Dr. Ciervo resides with his wife, Dr. Loretta Mueller, in Marlton, NJ.
