|Kennedy Health Care Center - Long-Term Care and Rehab Facility|
When it comes to receiving the finest in long-term nursing home and sub-acute rehabilitation care, look no further than the Kennedy Health Care Center, located on our Washington Township, NJ, campus. Patients in our nursing home and in our new, adjoining Sub-Acute Wing receive top quality care, in a modern yet home-like setting. |
The Kennedy Health Care Center has two components: a 130-bed nursing home, and our newly opened, separate 60-bed Sub-Acute Wing. The Sub-Acute Rehabilitation Wing serves patients who have experienced an acute medical event (i.e. stroke, head trauma, illness) and need a "bridge" between a hospital stay and a return to home, usually lasting less than a month.
The Kennedy Health Care Center's long-term care facility features modern private and semi-private rooms for residents; a spacious dining room; and a day room that opens onto a lush courtyard. The Center provides an array of activities – everything from pet therapy to seasonal activities – that encourage our residents' independence, social interaction and comfort. Physical Therapy is provided on-site.
The two-story Sub-Acute Rehabilitation Wing is connected to the existing Kennedy Health Care Center, but has a separate entrance. The courtyard between the original facility and the Sub-Acute Wing is enclosed, allowing patients to spend quality time outside. The landscape plan includes a healing garden in the courtyard and the lobby has a modern waterfall element.
There are both private and semi-private patient rooms in the Sub-Acute Wing. Even patients in a shared room enjoy a sense of privacy, as the rooms are designed with separate bedroom space. Each floor of the Sub-Acute Wing has a kitchen and dining area open to both patients and visitors. These kitchen areas are arranged so they may also serve as a training area for patients receiving occupational therapy. Physical, speech, and occupational therapy are provided in the second floor gym.
The Kennedy Health Care Center has a four-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, a designation based on quality measures, health inspection results, and nurse staffing.
