Nutrition Education Services for Your Family
Community residents can turn to Kennedy for excellent nutrition education services. Our individual and group sessions are delivered by our highly-skilled and specially trained Registered Dietitians. Whether you have specific health issues that need to be addressed, or just want to feel and look your best, Kennedy has a program for you. In addition, many insurance companies may provide coverage for these services.
Group Weight Management
Create Your Weight– a 12-week adult weight management program, developed and taught by Registered Dietitians and based on guidelines from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Create Your Weight Adult Weight Management  encompasses nutrition education, physical activity and the role of behavioral therapy in weight reduction and weight management. This educational program provides participants with the knowledge and tools they need to successfully manage their weight forever simply by making better choices. Nutrition education includes:
  • basic nutrition components
  • calorie composition
  • food portions
  • supplements
  • food preparation
  • dining out
  • food labels
  • shopping tips

The physical activity module addresses the role of exercise and physical activity in weight reduction and weight management.  Lastly, the behavior modification module focuses on personal awareness, behavior chains and our relationship to food.

After the 12-week weight loss program, participants may continue their weight management goals in the “Create Your Weight Phase Two” program. These monthly sessions address the “hot topics” in nutrition, exercise and behavior modification to keep you on track!

Individual Counseling for Weight Loss
Kennedy offers another avenue to address weight management – one-on-one counseling with a Registered Dietitian. This service provides an alternative for those adults who prefer individual counseling sessions to group classes and/or have an immediate need for weight counseling assistance.

Diabetes Education
When you have diabetes, understanding and managing your diet are key to your good health.The expert staff at Center for Nutrition and Diabetes Education offer both group and individual nutrition education sessions to help you do just that. The program’s quality and success has been recognized by the American Diabetes Association (ADA).

Nutrition Counseling for Cancer Patients
Cancer treatment often makes eating a balanced diet challenging. Kennedy offers private counseling sessions with a Registered Dietitian to help cancer patients manage their nutritional needs.
Medical Nutrition Therapy

The Kennedy Health System offers a comprehensive Nutritional Counseling program, which provides one-on-one consultation to children or adults either referred by their physician or taking steps on their own to improve their health.

Nutritional Counseling is offered by trained Registered Dietitians at Center for Nutrition and Diabetes Education locations in Cherry Hill, Somerdale and Washington Township, NJ, by appointment.

The program provides support for:

  • Pregnancy and nutrition

Since each client’s health needs and concerns are different, Kennedy’s Nutritional Counseling program provides an individual, highly personalized plan for each client. Nutrition instruction and recommended lifestyle changes are provided by a Registered Dietitian, who provides:
