Ways to Give

Ways to give to the Kennedy Foundation

When you make a gift to Kennedy Health System, you have the opportunity to determine how the funds will be used, as well as many options for making your gift.

Unrestricted Gifts

Unrestricted gifts are important to Kennedy Health System because they allow the organization to disperse funds wherever the need is greatest, and to take advantage of unique opportunities as they arise.  Unrestricted contributions have been and could be used to support costs associated with patient needs, capital improvements, technological advancements, facility upgrades and much more.

Restricted Gifts

Restricted gifts allow the donor to designate their philanthropic support to a specific acute-care hospital or program at Kennedy Health System.

Listed below are some of the more popular ways in which gifts may be restricted.

1.  To support a specific program or service of Kennedy Health System.  Examples include:

  • Bariatric Surgery
  • Behavioral Health
  • Cancer Care
  • Cardiology
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Dialysis
  • Orthopaedics

2.  To support an existing fund. The Foundation manages more than 15 existing funds which have been previously established to benefit specific divisions and programs of Kennedy Health System. A gift can be added to such a fund and be used for the purposes for which that fund was established. To learn more about existing funds, please contact a member of the Foundation staff who can tell you which of these funds fit the purpose, division or program of Kennedy Health System you wish to benefit from your gift.

3.  To establish a new fund.  A donor has the ability to create a new special purpose fund and place his/her name or someone else’s name on it.  These new funds are generally restricted for a very specific purpose.  If a donor has an interest in establishing a new fund, he/she should call a member of the Foundation staff.

*Please note that establishing a restricted fund requires a minimum gift amount.
